Tamanu Oil | Organic and Unrefined

Description

Foroha is a thick, rich oil comes from the nut found in the center of the yellow fruit that grows on calophyllum inophyllum trees. These plants are native to Madagascar and Polynesia, and the oil is often used in Polynesian traditional medicine. Foraha oil develops inside the nuts as they are dried for eight weeks after being harvested. Then, the nuts are pressed to extract the oil.  Foraha is also known as Tamanu and has an intense, nutty aroma.

Tamanu oil is best known, though, for its amazing skin regeneration properties. It can be used to smooth out scars and stretch marks, soothe cuts and burns, or simply to promote soft, beautiful skin and skin renewal.  It also has antibacterial and anti fungal properties. Tamanu oil is a great addition to your carrier oils collection and can be used in body butters, lotions and creams for an additional moisturizing effect.

Thick, green, just as it should be. Used it in a charcoal face soap recipe...waiting for it to saponify and cure a bit before use!
